| Float-tubing / Belly-Boating fishing package holidays in Wales |
|
Described as “the most fun you can have with your clothes on!” This truly is an exhilarating way of fishing and takes some beating. Imagine sitting back in the most comfortable of armchairs, add some water, a fishing rod, some obliging fish, and you’re on the right tracks! Not to experience this method of fishing is a crime; it truly is a fun packed experience, one that should be tried at least once, twice if you like it!
Not sure if you’re ready to invest in a float-tube setup? No problem, Angling Worldwide has float tube kits for rental as part of our float-tube packages! These come complete with; Top of the line Caddis U-Boats, Caddis flipper sets, rod leashes, anchors, fish tethers, automatic inflatable life jackets, nets, inflation pumps, safety whistles.

To make this the perfect package we needed the perfect venue, and we’ve found it! Set in the rolling Cambrian hills of Mid-Wales, Teifi-Pools is the perfect setting. Total serenity awaits you at these series of lakes, which are full of wild brown trout that are ever obliging to the fly. However, you may find yourself paying more attention to the Red-Kites that roam freely than you do to the trout.
Our float-tubing packages are superb as day packages, or combined as part of a sea-trout or brown-trout package on the nearby Teifi – float-tube by day, fish for sea-trout by night, perfect! We can even work a few days fishing around a pre-booked family holiday, a welcome break. Whatever your requirements Angling Worldwide has got it covered. Contact us for more information on suitable packages and itineraries.

| Fishing Season |
| Although starting in March and ending in September, peak sport would be in the months of May, June and September when the water temperature warms up slightly. However, times can vary and some good sport can be had in March, April, July and August, depending on weather and conditions. We have the knowledge to be able to advise you on when you should be where, so contact us with your requirements and we’ll do the rest.
|
| Accommodation |
| These packages can be taken without accommodation as day-trips, as such, not requiring accommodation. If you would |
 |
like accommodation as part of your package it can be tailored and arranged to your exacting needs. We can arrange anything from campsites, B&B’s, plush hotels, through to self-catering cottages. Contact us with your requirements and we will do the rest. Please note that cottages and self catering units should be booked several months in advance to assure availability – they book up fast, as can hotels and B&B’s. |
| Fishing licences and permits |
| A valid ‘trout’ fishing rod licence is mandatory for all that undertake these packages. UK residents can buy these prior to their arrival, or within the fishing locality. We can purchase these in advance for visiting/foreign anglers, and include them in the cost of the package. Permits will be included in the price of the package and will be arranged prior to your arrival. We want to make your stay as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, ensuring that’s all you have to concentrate on is catching fish! |
|
| Tackle |
A rod between 9ft and 11ft is ideal for this type of fishing (the longer rods do make for easier casting from the float-tubes) with line ratings between 4-7; ideally a 10ft rod with 5/6 line. Reels are to your preference. A floating and an intermediate line would cover most eventualities. Nylon should be carried in weights between 4-8lbs. |
| Flies |
As recommendations, we would advise carrying the following patterns; traditional patterns such as; black and peacock spider, bibio, zulu, golden olive bumble, claret bumble, viva, butcher, dunkeld, woolly-buggers, dabblers, concoction, black goldheads and silverheads. Dry representations of the coch-y-bonddu beetle should be carried, along with some cranefly, sedge, midge, and olive representations – most lakes get a hatch of the great red sedge.
