| Sea-trout (Sewin) Fishing Package, Wales |
|
There is no finer venue to target sea-trout than the majestic, unspoilt rivers of Wales . Sea-trout, known as sewin in Wales, run on every seaward facing corner of Wales with some rivers bestowed as the finest sea-trout rivers in Europe, if not the World! Rod catches reach into the thousands each season on these rivers, with catches of 5+ fish a night not uncommon and double figure sea-trout being a regular occurrence on many of them.
The best sea-trout rivers in Wales are available on package breaks, be they guided or unguided, through Angling Worldwide. These would include the revered Teifi and Towy (probably the best sea-trout rivers in Wales ), through to the Dovey and the Welsh Dee, to name but a few. Not sure which one would be best for you? We are here to help and have extensive knowledge of the rivers in question, having fished the rivers for countless years and running package breaks on many of them for over 10 years! We can even work a few days fishing around a pre-booked family holiday, a welcome break. Contact us with your requirements and we’ll do the rest.
Sea-trout are the zenith of the fly-angler’s quarry in the UK , without question. They are worthy opponents, providing exhilarating sport and action – especially since they are

| Fishing Season |
| Although starting in April and ending in October on most of the rivers we cover, peak sport would be in the months of May, June, July and August. However, April can fish well on some rivers, as can September. We have the knowledge to be able to advise you on when you should be where, so contact us with your requirements and we’ll do the rest. |
| Accommodation |
| Can be tailored and arranged to your exacting needs. We can arrange anything from campsites, B&B’s, plush hotels, |

through to self-catering cottages. Contact us with your requirements and we will do the rest. Please note that cottages and self catering units should be booked several months in advance to assure availability – they book up fast, as can hotels and B&B’s. |
| Fishing licences and permits |
| A valid migratory fish rod licence is necessary for all that undertake these packages. UK residents can buy these prior to their arrival, or within the fishing locality. We can purchase these in advance for visiting/foreign anglers, and include them in the cost of the package. Permits will be included in the price of the package and will be arranged prior to your arrival. We want to make your stay as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, ensuring that’s all you have to concentrate on is catching fish! |
|
| Tackle |
Any rod between 9ft and 10’6ft with a line rating of between 7-9 will suffice for sea-trout; usual resevoir/stillwater rods are great. Reels are to your preference, however, a decent drag system is recommended as is backing! A floating line, intermediate line, accompanied with some poly-leaders are all that’s required. Nylon in strengths of 8,10,12 and 15lbs. Our guides will provide flies for the fishing session and advise you on set-ups and tactics (on guided nights). Tackle is available on loan for those without suitable set-ups, and for those that don’t want the hassle of bringing fishing gear with them on holiday. Spinning and bait fishing is permitted and we can advise you on what to bring if you wish to pursue these methods, which are very viable and successful when river conditions dictate. |
| Flies |
flies are provided free of charge on guided nights, and the guides will discuss what to use and when – maximising your chances of catching and broadening your knowledge and experience. Flies can be purchased from us in advance of your trip (available for booked packages only), being flies suitable both in size and style for the river you will fish. As recommendations, we would advise carrying the following patterns; traditional patterns such teal, blue and silver, black pennell, black and silver, black and orange, black and red, black and blue. Snake flies, waddingtons, and tube-flies should be carried in various lengths and colours. Surface lures and muddlers can also be very successful. |
